Vintage Hotels feels strongly about ensuring that Niagara remains a healthy
and vibrant community.
Our belief in giving back to the community is shown in our commitment to a variety of
charitable initiatives. We have turned this commitment into action by contributing our time,
our hearts and our resources to the following organizations:
Big Brothers Big Sisters of North and West Niagara
In early 2007 Vintage Hotels launched their support both nationally and locally (St.
Catharines, Thorold, Niagara-on-the-Lake and District). We committed to a multi-tiered
charitable program to help Canada’s leading child and youth serving organization meet its
fundraising goals. Our partnership includes sponsorship, cash and in-kind donations. In
addition we encourage team members to give of their time to mentor a young person. Our
team members remain active in the annual Bowl For Kids Sake Campaign. Vintage Hotels
proudly sponsors and hosts the annual Wine, Women & Style event each year for the local
Go Girls program. Vintage Hotels understands that exceptional employees are defined as
much by what they do on the job as what they do beyond their time at work. The Big
Brothers Big Sisters partnership continues to be an incredible opportunity for our team
members to embody and demonstrate Vintage Hotels’ commitment to inspiring young
people to achieve their full potential.
United Way Campaign
Our team members make generous contributions each year through signing up for payroll
deductions during our Kickoff Pancake Breakfast. We also participate in “Backpacks for
Kids” helping to send children living in poverty in Niagara back to school prepared, with a
backpack filled with supplies.
Wellspring Niagara
Vintage Hotels has supported Wellspring Niagara by hosting their annual Spring Fashion
Show at Queen's Landing every April. We have also made a donation of guestrooms which
Wellspring sells for their annual "Starry Night Gala Evening" held at Shaw Festival each
November.
Seniors’ Traditional Afternoon Tea
Vintage Hotels is fond of the senior citizens in our community. To show our appreciation,
every other month, we invite a Senior Citizens home to enjoy traditional afternoon tea
in The Drawing Room at Prince of Wales. This provides them with an opportunity to
socialize and take pleasure amidst our stunning décor reminiscent of the Victorian era. We
also bring tea to various senior citizens homes for their residents to enjoy that are not able
to travel outside the building.
Niagara Culinary Sponsorships
Vintage Hotels supports the education of our youth by partnering with various educational
institutions. Niagara College of Applied Arts & Technology is located in Niagara-on-the-Lake
and offers several hospitality, tourism and culinary programs. Several members of our
management team have taught courses at the College. We also employ students and
graduates who prove to be exceptional employees. Other ways in which we partner include
participating on various advisory committees, conducting culinary competitions for culinary
students and through financial contributions.
Gillian’s Place
Gillian’s Place has become one of our new charitable partners in the region, showcased
primarily at Queen’s Landing. Every year we support the Mothers and children's Christmas
gift drive with our Tree of Hope, making the holiday season a little brighter for over 100
mothers and children. We also do various drives when Gillian’s place is in need of specific
items, including back to school supplies and backpacks as well as donations of furniture
and supplies from the hotel.
Tree of Hope
The spirit of giving is alive and well at Vintage Hotels. During the months of November and
December, Vintage Hotels continues to honour its commitment to bettering the community
and helping local families experience a truly joyful holiday season with the annual 'TREE OF
HOPE' toy drive. Each of our hotels has its own tree which benefits a local charity: Queen’s
Landing supports Gillian’s Place, Prince of Wales and Inn on the Twenty contribute to Big
Brother’s Big Sisters, Pillar and Post supports Project SHARE, and Millcroft donates to the
Orangeville Food Bank.
