Baby Travel Packing Checklist
BABY-SPECIFIC ITEMS
Take along a few key items baby is familiar with, like their blankie (of course!) and their favorite stuffed toy or a bath toy
they love. There is nothing like familiarity and sense of routine to a baby/toddler, however remember not to weigh
yourself down with all the toys in the toy-box!
! Baby backpack or carrying bag (backpacks are great as
you are hands-free and not lop-sided)
" Car Seat w base (you can skip this and bring baby
carrier only – rent a car seat/stroller where you are
headed)
! Formula or milk, if you are not breast-feeding
" Front Carrier or Sling
! Baby food/Baby Cereal (or buy at destination)
" Plastic bags or a Diaper Bag Dispenser with Bags
! Eating utensils (to avoid ‘disposable’ items, rinse in
bathroom and bring a kitchen towel cut in strips, to
wrap cutlery for washing/re-use later)
" Hand wipes/small bottle of disinfecting hand gel,
baby wash, and baby lotion
! Bottles & Nipples
" Tissues
! Sippy Cups
" Energy-boosting snacks for mom/dad to munch on
! Teething Crackers / ‘Baby-friendly’ Snacks
" Night light
! Baby Toothbrush and Toothpaste
" Simple first-aid travel kit
! Shampoo, body wash, powder, butt cream (baby
toiletries)
" Baby pain reliever and supplies for treating minor
injuries or teething (pack in plastic sealable bag to
prevent leaks)
! Grooming kit (with baby nail clippers and hairbrush)
" Baby pain reliever and supplies for treating minor

! Blankies (bring a few: to lay baby on, cover baby, cover
self, protect clothes from messy burps, shade baby,
and more)
" “Child-Proofing” Safety Items such as: Electric plug
covers, corner covers. Some hardware stores sell all-
in-one kits
! Pacifier (if baby using one)
" Baby (video) monitor
! Toys and best stuffed animals (choose 6 maximum!),
Markers, Drawing Paper
" Babyfood steamer/processor, if necessary (we use
‘Beaba')
! Diapers (1 for each 3 hrs in transit, plus extras in case of
delays
" Camera, battery charger, and an extra memory card
! Swim Diapers and/or Baby’s Swimsuit
" Phone number of baby’s healthcare provider in case
you have questions while on the road
! Pad to put under baby during diaper changes
" Bubbles blower!
! Inflatable baby bathtub
" Flash Cards or Other Compact / Educational Activity
! Bath Toys
" Crib bedding

! 1-2 outfits per day (if not planning on doing laundry) –

" Consent letter from non-traveling parent if traveling

" Photocopies of passport & drivers’ license – packed
separately, in case ID is lost or stolen
" Cheques/checks and security device (for one of my
bank accounts, can only make transfers using a
security device! good thing I remembered to pack it!)

" Dish soap, dish sponge and dishwashing gloves (you’d
be amazed how much washing of baby food and drink
items you could wash/rinse when on the go!)
" Your housekeys, car keys / keychain (put these in a
luggage pocket you can access easily when you arrive
home!)
