their 100th anniversary celebration run. The Centennial Legacy Run is scheduled for Sunday,
Jan. 14, 2024, at 8 a.m. The South Padre Island Police Department, along with other City
departments, will assist with the event to manage crowds and traffic control.
“Public safety is always our number one priority, said Claudine O’Carroll, Police chief. “We want
to ensure that participants can enjoy this great event highlighting the U.S. Border Patrol’s

there going north on the frontage.

3. Participants will run on the inside/left lane of the causeway.
4. Upon exiting the causeway, participants will turn left on Garcia St. in Port Isabel and head
westbound towards the Port Isabel Event Center.
Vehicles
1. All westbound traffic will be directed to the outside/right lane using cones and traffic
personnel.
2. All eastbound traffic will be unobstructed.
3. Estimated time for the temporary lane closures: 6 a.m. to 11 a.m.
