PURPOSE OF ROSS STUDENT GUIDELINES
Youareenrolledinschooltohavetheopportunitytodevelopskillsandknowledgethatcan
helpyoupursueanentrylevelpositionasaNursingAssistant.Acooperativeattitudewhile
attendingschoolwillprovideRosstheopportunitytobetterserveyouinthoseeducational
pursuits;consequently,theenclosedStudentGuidelinesareprovidedtoassistyouingetting
themostoutofyoureducationexperienceatRoss!
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
ACertificateofCompletionwillbeawardedtoeachstudentwhosuccessfullycompletesall
NursingAssistantprogramrequirementsinthespecifiedtimeandisreadytoattemptthe
state'sapplicableCertificationExam;toincludecompletionofallhoursofinstruction,achieved
aminimum75%gradeaverage,obtainedsatisfactoryassessmentintheLaboratoryandClinical
settings(achieving100%competencyinlabpriortotakingclinicalsand100%competencyin
clinicalspriortograduation),andcompletedpaymentofatuitionandsupplyfeesasapplicable.
Itisthestudent’sresponsibilitytomaintaintheirCertificateofCompletion.
TRANSFER CREDIT
RossMedicalEducationCenter/RossCollegeisnotdesignedasatransferinstitutionanddoes
notcurrentlyhavearticulationagreementswithanypostsecondaryinstitutions.RossMedical
EducationCenter/RossCollegeoffersnoguaranteeoftransferabilityofcreditsorclockhoursto
anyotherinstitution.Thereceivinginstitution(college)ratherthanthetraininginstitution
(Ross)makesthefinaldeterminationwhetherornottransfercreditsorclockhourswillbe
accepted.Studentsshouldplanthattheeducationalcreditsand/orclockhoursreceivedatRoss
willnottransfertoanotherinstitution.
Rossdoesnot
accepttransfercreditsfromotherNurseAidetrainingprograms.
ATTENDANCE POLICY
AllmissedclasstimemustbemadeupbeforeastudentreceivesaCertificateofCompletion.
MisseddayswillneedtobemadeupwithasubsequentclassatthediscretionoftheProgram
Coordinator.Subsequently,thiswillresultindelayingtheexpectedprogramcompletiondate
expecteduponprogramenrollment.
Leavingthebuildingduringclasstimewithouthavinganinstructorsignyououtonthe
attendancelogareconsideredfalsificationofanofficialrecord.Thiswillcausethestudentto
beplacedonconductwarningandmayresultinbeingdismissed
fromclassfortheday.Itwill
benecessaryforthestudenttomakeupanytimemissedasaresultofbeingdismissed.

TheconsequencesofOfficialAttendanceOccurrencesareasfollows:
OccurrenceI:Studentreceivesawrittenwarningandworkswithhis/herinstructorto
schedulemakeuptime.Makeuptimeisatthediscretionoftheinstructor.
OccurrenceII:Studentreceiveswrittennotification,isplacedonattendanceprobation
andworkswiththeinstructortoschedulemakeuptime.Makeuptimeisatthe
discretionoftheinstructor.
OccurrenceIII:Studentissuspendedfromtheprogramandmustreturnwiththenext
availableclasstocompletehis/herprogram.
Studentshaveninety(90)daysfromtheiroriginallyscheduledcompletiondatetocompleteall
programrequirementsandschedulingwillbebaseduponclassspaceavailabilityandifthereis
aclassbeingoffered.
Classtimethatismissedinexcessofthree(3)hoursrequiresmakeuptimethatexactly
correspondstothemisseddateandtime.Forexample,ifastudentmissesthelastfivehoursof
thefirstWednesdayclass,he/shemustattendthelastfivehoursofthefirstWednesdayofthe
nextavailablescheduledclass.Inorderforthestudenttoattendclinicals,minimumState
mandatedclassroomcontentmustbecovered.Additionally,studentswillonlybeallowedto
performskillsintheclinicalsettingthattheyhavebeentrainedorbeenfoundproficientonin
thelabsetting.Studentswillnotbeallowedtoattendorperformskillsintheclinicalsetting
untilthesecriteriahavebeenmet.
REPORTING ABSENCES
Rossbelievesthatpreparationforacareerincludesdevelopingtheproperworkhabitsof
punctualityandgoodattendance.Studentswillbemarkedabsentforanytimemissed.
Studentsareexpectedtocontacttheschoolbyphoneimmediately,regardinganytardiesor
absences.
Ifastudentmissestimefromschoolanddoesnotcalltheschoolinadvance,the
studentwillbeconsideredanocall/noshowandwillbeconsideredanOfficialUnexcused
Attendanceregardlessofdocumentationsupplied.
ATTENDANCE MAKE-UP POLICY
Rossbelievesthatpreparationforacareerincludesdevelopingtheproperworkhabitsof
punctualityandgoodattendance.Studentswillbemarkedabsentforanytimemissed.
Studentswhodonotmeettheattendancerequirementwillbeconsideredunexcusedandwill
berequiredtomakeuptheseabsencesaccordingtotheNursingAssistantattendancepolicy.
Studentsunabletomaintaintheattendancerequirementswillbesubjecttoprogram
terminationforviolationoftheattendancepolicy.

STANDARDS OF SATISFACTORY PROGRESS
Inordertomaintainsatisfactoryprogress,studentsmustmeetminimumstandardsofacademic
achievementandattendance.Studentsmustachieveacumulativeaverageof75%inthe
NursingAssistantprogram.Agradeof75%isapassinggrade.Theaverageofalltestsinthe
programmustbe75%orabovetosuccessfullycompletetheprogram.Studentsmustalsopass
(100%)clinical/labcompetenciestosuccessfullycompletetheprogram.
Atestgradeoflessthan75%willgenerateareviewbytheProgramCoordinator.Atthattime,
thestudentandProgramCoordinatorwilldiscussthelearningenvironmentandevaluatethe
needtoputinplaceanyadditionalorspeciallearningpractices.
Tutoringandacademicguidanceareprovidedtostudentswhenneeded.
Allmissedclasstimemustbemadeupbeforeastudentisallowedtoattendclinicalswhich
wouldthenresultinthestudentreceivingaCertificateofCompletion.Failuretomeet100%of
classroomtrainingtimewouldresultinanextendedprogramcompletiondatefromwhatwas
expecteduponprogramenrollment.PleaserefertotheAttendancePolicyandGraduation
Requirementsformoredetails.
TESTING POLICY
Duringtesting,studentsmustplaceallbelongingsandbooksundertheirdesks.Studentswillbe
instructedtospreadoutsothatthereisanemptychairbetweeneachperson,ifpossible.
Speakingtootherstudentsduringtestingisnotpermitted.Ifstudentsneedassistanceduring
testing,theymayraisetheirhandandtheinstructorwillassistthem.
Assoonasclasstestsareturnedintotheinstructor,studentsareconsideredtobefinished.
Anyunansweredquestionswillbemarkedasincorrect.Gradesfortests,includingfinalexams,
willnotbeavailableuntilthenextclassday,toallowadequatetimeforstafftoevaluateand
recordgrades.TherewillbeNORETAKESofanyexamforanyreason.
PHYSICAL EXAMINATION
TheNursingAssistantprogramincludesapracticalexperienceinaclinicalsettingas
arequiredcomponentoftheprogram.Aclinicalfacilitymayrequirethatstudentscompletea
healthscreening/physicalexaminationpriortoallowingthemtostartthepracticalexperience.
HEPATITIS B INOCULATION SERIES/TB TEST
ManyhealthemployerspreferthatapplicantsforemploymenthaveproofofHepatitisB
inoculationasaconditionofemployment.Studentsmayberequiredtoprovideproofofthe
HepatitisBinoculationinordertoobtainemployment.

StudentsarerequiredbylawtoobtainandprovideproofoftheresultsofacurrentTBtest.The
resultsoftheTBtestmustbegiventotheCampusAdministratororProgram
Director/Coordinatorwithinfourdaysafterstartingtheprogram.Pleasenote,theresultsofthe
TBtestmayaffectcompletionoftherequiredprogramclinicals,whichinturn,mayresultina
changeinthestudent’sexpectedprogramcompletiondate.
INFLUENZA/COVID-19 VACCINE SERIES
StudentswithcurrentinfluenzaorCOVID19vaccineseriesarerequestedtoprovideproofofthese
vaccinestotheCampusAdministratororProgramDirector/Coordinatorwithinfourdaysafterstarting
theprog ram.Studentswithoutthesevaccineserieswillbeprovideawaiver,whereapplicable.
CLINICAL TRAINING COMPETENCY
Studentsmu stachieve100%accuracyinlabpriortotakingclinicalsandmustachiev e100%on
clinicalsinordertopassthecou rse.Studentswillnotbepermittedtoattendtheclinicaltraining
portionoftheirprogramiftheyhav enotsufficiently(100%)masteredth ecareskillstobesafeand
competent.
TUITION AND FEES
TheNursingAssistantprogramtuitionis$1,300.00*.
*Theprogramcostincludestuition,books,backgroundcheck,andotherfeesassociatedwiththe
program.SeeDressCodesectionforitemsnotincludedintheabovecostsbutarerequiredforthe
program.Optionalequipment,whichincludesbloodpressurecuff,stethoscope,andgaitbelt,is
availablefor$55.00.
Note:Tuitionandfeesaresubjecttochangewithoutpriornotice.
Timelypaymentsoftuitionandfeesareexpectedtobemadeaccordingtothepayment
scheduleoutlinedbytheschoolanddetailedintheexecuted(signed)enrollmentagreement.
Anyremainingpaymentsshouldbemadeonorbeforethelastclassroomtrainingdayon
campuspriortoattendingclinicals.
ROSS EDUCATION PAYMENT SCHEDULE
Timelypaymentsoftuitionandfeesareexpectedtobemadeaccordingtothepayment
scheduleoutlinedbytheschool.Finalpaymentsshouldbemadeonorbeforethelastclass
roomtrainingdayoncampuspriortoattendingclinicals.
CONSEQUENCES OF NON-PAYMENT
Intheeventpaymentsarenotmadeinaccordanceto
thep rearrang edRossPayment Plan,the
studentmaynotcontinuewiththeprogram,untilpaym entismadecurren t.Failuretopaythe
balanceinfullmaydelaythestudentfromcompletingclinicals,anddelaytheexpected prog ram

completiondate(nocertificateofcompletionwillbeearned),thusresultinginthestudent’saccount
beingsenttoacollectionagency. 
WITHDRAWALS
Intheeventthatastudentwithdrawsoristerminatedfromtheprogrambeforetheprogram
completiondate,therefundpolicywillbeappliedtothetotaltuition
andfeesassessed.Ifitis
determinedthatatuitionandfeesobligationremainstobepaid,paymentsareexpectedtobe
continuedaccordingtotheenrollmentagreementorRossPaymentPlanuntiltheremaining
balanceispaidinfull.Failuretocontinuepaymentsonanybalanceremainingmayresultin
the
student’saccountbeingsenttoacollectionagency.
READMISSIONS
ApplicationforreadmissiontoRosswillbereviewedonanindividualbasis.Astudentmust
submitawrittenrequestforreentryandmeetwiththecampus’AssociateDirectorbefore
beingconsideredforreadmission.Thereadmittedstudentwillbeplacedonsatisfactory
progresswarningstatus(seeStandardsofSatisfactoryProgresssection).
CLASS CANCELLATION
Likeotherpostsecondaryinstitutions(andunlikegradeschoolorhighschool),Rossdoes
notbuildcancellationsintopublishedprogramschedules.Consequently,intheeventofa
schoolclosingduetoinclementweatherorotherunforeseensituationsthatwillpreventthe
campusfromopening,studentswillbenotifiedofsuchclosingsviatheRosswebsiteat
www.rosseducation.edu/weatherpage.Inaddition,everyattemptwillbemadetoalsopost
theclosingonalocaltelevisionstation.Intheeventoftheseclosings,pleasenotethatall
cancelledclasseswillberescheduledinadditiontoandoutsideofregularly
scheduledclasshours.
STANDARDS OF CONDUCT
Studentsshouldmaintainaprofessionalandpositiveattitudetowardtheirschoolwork,the
facultyandotherclassmates.Disruptivenessanddisrespectoncampusandonpublic
property(whichisinthesamereasonablycontiguousgeographicareaofthecampus)will
beconsideredcausefordismissal.Substanceabuse,theft,cheatingorplagiarismwillalsobe
causesfordismissal.
Studentswhodisregardtherulesandregulationsaresubjecttodisciplinaryactionuptoand
includingdismissal.Thecampus’AssociateDirectormakesalldeterminationsregarding
conduct.
DRESS CODE
ThedresscoderequirementforRossfollowstheprotocolfoundinmostmedicalfacilities.

Studentsarerequiredtowearscrubsandappropriatefootweartoclasseachdayaswellasto
clinicals.Studentsareresponsibleforprovidingtheirownuniform:scrubs,shoesthatareOSHA
compliant,andawatchwithasecondhand.ContacttheCampusAdministratorforanyneeded
clarificationontheseitems.
Additionally,hoodedsweatshirtsandsimilarapparelisconsideredunacceptableclassroomor
workplaceattire.Thecampus’AssociateDirectormakesalldeterminationsregarding
professionalattire.
Allstudentsarerequiredtoweartheirscrubsandnametagduringallclassroomand
clinicalactivities.AllfootwearmustbeappropriateforahealthcarefacilityandmeetOSHA
standards.Allshoesmustbeclosedtoesandheelsandbefluidandpunctureresistance,i.e.,
OSHAcompliant.Allfingernailsmustbegroomedtonomorethan½inchwithnoartificialor
acrylicnails.Allfacialpiecing’smustberemovedorcovereddiscretely.Alltattoosmustbe
coveredappropriately.Personalgrooming,includinghairlengthandjewelryshouldbe
professionalandnotinterferewithanyclassroomorclinicalprocedures.Perfumeorcologne
willnotbeallowedforsaferesidentcare.Headcoveringsshallnotbewornwiththeexception
ofthosethatarerelatedtoaperson’sreligiousbeliefs.Thestandardforappropriatenesswill
bedeterminedbytheadministrationonthecampus.
Duringalllabandclinicalprocedureswherethepotentialexposuretobloodorbodyfluids
exists,studentsareissuedandrequiredtowearPersonalProtectiveEquipment(PPE)which
mayconsistsofanimperviousgown,mask,facialshieldandgloves.
Allstudentsarerequiredtohaveawatchwithasecondhand.
EQUIPMENT AND AUDIO-VISUAL AIDS
InordertopreparegraduatesforNursingAssistantcareers,avarietyofequipmentisavailable
forprograminstruction.Knowledgeandproficiencyareattainedbybothdemonstrationand
actualoperationofequipment.Eachcampusissuppliedwith
audiovisualequipment,anatomy
andphysiologycharts,anarrayofeducationalvideosandDVDstoprovideavarietyoflearning
modesincluding,DVDplayer,handoutsandmodels.Hardcopytextbooks/workbooksare
madeavailabletostudents.Aprogramspecificequipmentlistisavailableasneeded.
Studentsareexpectedtohaveawatchwithasecondhand,availableinmostdepartment
storesormedicalsupplystores.Studentmustalsopurchaseorhaveavailabletothemin
advancescrubs,stethoscope,bloodpressurecuffandgaitbelt.Theseitemsareavailable
throughmedicalsupplystoresorintheformofakitfromRossMedicalEducationCenter.See
TuitionandFeessectionforinformationrelatedtoequipmentfeesfortheNursingAssistant
Program.

COMMITMENT TO STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES
RossEducationHoldings,Inc.iscommittedtoensuringequalopportunityineducational

submitdocumentationfromaqualifiedandlicensedmedicalortestingsource.Expenses
incurredinobtainingtheprofessionalverificationarethestudent'sresponsibility.
Timing:Makingtimelyaccommodationrequestsisessential.Someaccommodationrequests
requiremoreextensiveactivitiestoevaluateand/ortoimplementandinvolvegreatertime
thanotherrequests.Ingeneral,Rosstriestoactuponarequestforaccommodationwithinone
weekaftertheindividualhassubmittedtheRequestforReasonableAccommodationform,
togetherwithsupportingpaperwork,if
necessary.Requestsrelatingtoaccommodationsinthe
admissionsprocessmustbemadeatleasttwoweeksinadvance.Generally,requestsfor
accommodationsinaparticularcourseorprogramshouldbemadeatleasttwoweekspriorto

UponreceiptofaRequestforReasonableAccommodationFormandanysupporting
documentationsubmittedorsubsequentlyrequestedandsubmitted,theCorporateCounsel
andComplianceOfficerwillassesstherequesttoensurethattherequestedaccommodationis
reasonable,orwhetheranalternativeaccommodationisappropriate.
UndueBurden
Rossmaydenyarequestedaccommodationthatfundamentallyaltersthenatureofthe
programorpresentsanundueburdenforRoss.However,evenwhenarequested
accommodationwouldresultinafundamentalalterationorundueburden,Rosswill
neverthelessstillprovideanalternativeaccommodation,ifoneexists,toensurethatthe
studentstillreceivesthebenefitsoftheprogramtothemaximumextentpossible.
ComplaintProcedure
AstudentwithconcernsaboutRoss’legalobligationsunderfederalorstatedisabilitylaws,or
whobelievesthatRossisnotmeetingthoseobligations,orwhobelievesthatheorshehas
beendiscriminatedagainstbecauseofadisability,shouldpursueoneofthebelowoptionsto
bringacomplaint.AstudentshallsuffernoretaliationbyRossforfilingacomplaintor
exercisinganyrightprotectedbytheADA.

RESPONSIBLE USE OF SOCIAL MEDIA
StudentsusingsponsoredRosssocialmediasites,suchaspagesinFacebook,andInstagram,
areexpectedtoconductthemselvesinamannerthatcomplieswiththetermsofthestudent
codeofconduct.Thecodeofconductalsoappliestothosestudentswhoidentifythemselves
with
Rossinsocialmediaplatformssuchasprofessionalblogs,LinkedIn,Facebook,etc.
WhileRossdoesnottypicallyprovideeditorialreviewofthecontentofsocialmediasites
usedbyitsstudents,Rossdoesreservetherighttoaskstudentstotakedowncontentthatis
deemedinviolationofthestudentcodeofconduct,fromthirdpartycomplaints,applicablelaw
orregulationorcomputerandnetworkmanagementconcerns.
FIREARMS AND WEAPONS
Rossdoesnottolerateanytypeofviolencecommittedbyoragainststudents,stafforfaculty
includingphysicaland/orverbalthreats.Studentsareprohibitedfrommakingthreatsor
engaginginviolentactivities.

prohibited.Rossmaintainsanotoleranceviolencepolicy,andviolationsofthispolicyconstitute
gravemisconductandmayleadtodisciplinaryactionincludingstudentterminationand
notificationtolocallawenforcement.Forthesafetyofstudentsand
staff,allRosscampuses
aremonitoredbyvideosurveillance.
HAZARDOUS MATERIAL
Ahazardousmaterialisasubstance(gas,solid,orliquid)capableofharmingpeople,property
andtheenvironment,asaresultofuse,handling,storageordisposal.Ross’policyistoassure
safeuse,handlingandstorageofhazardousmaterials
throughproperlabeling,provisionof
SafetyDataSheets(SDS)andtraining.Theuseofsharpscollectorsismandatory.
Allcontaminatedmaterials,i.e.,needles,syringes,etc.,mustbedisposedofinthesecontainers.
Undernocircumstancesarestudentsallowedtodisposeofsharpscollectors.
EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT PLAN
AllRosscampuseshaveanEmergencyManagementPlanwhichisdesignedasa
comprehensivereferencetoassistRosscampusesinprovidingasafelearningenvironment.
Thisplanincludesriskassessment,evacuationprocedures,lockdownprocedures,
communicationtointerestedparties,designatedmediaspokesperson,andtrainingofstaff
andstudents.DuringOrientation,thesesignificantpointsfromtheplanarereviewedto
informstudentsofproceduresintheeventofanemergency.Practicedrillsareheldrandomly
throughouttheyear.ThedetailedEmergencyManagementPlanisavailableforreviewby
contactingtheCampusAdministrator.
BREAK TIME
Studentsmaybeallowedtoeatanddrinkindesignatedareasduringscheduledbreaksonly
(dependingupontheRossfacilitytheyareattending).Studentsinthenursingassistantprogram
willreceivetwo15minutebreaksandone30minuteorone60minute lunchbreakperday,
dependingonthecampusschedule.
AllRosscampusesaresmokefreeandtobaccofree(includingecigarettesandvaping).
Smoking
isnotallowedinthebuildingorinfrontofthebuilding.Itisagainstthelawtosmoke
within25feetofapublicbuilding.Localgovernmentscanchoosetoenactstricterlawsif
desired.
CLEAN UP
Studentsareresponsibleforkeepingtheirworkareasandotherschoolpremisescleanat
alltimes.Thisincludessanitizingworkareaswithapprovedsanitizer.

currentstudentsandemployees.Thisreportincludesinformationregarding campussecurity
policiesandcampuscrime.TheCampusCrimeandSafetyReportand
otherinformative
informationoncrimeandsafetyarealsoavailableforreviewtoall prospectivestudentsand
prospectiveemployees.
Asinanypublicfacility,Rossurgesstudentstobeawareofconditionsthatcouldpotentially
jeopardizetheirsafety,(e.g.,parkinginalightedarea,lockingcardoors,keepingpurseand
