Selection of pass/fail grading or hearer status by students can be accomplished by using this form. This must occur after

registering for the course(s) by Joe’SS. This completed form must be submitted to the Registrar's Office, 103 Parker Hall,

no later than the last day when the grading option can be changed for the term. Pass/fail grading option cannot be elected

after the end of the second week of class. Students cannot change to Hearer status after the end of the sixth week of class.

After classes begin, a yellow section change/credit hour-grading option form should be completed rather than using this

form.

Pass/Fail Course: Students cannot take more than one course pass/fail in a term. Courses specified by discipline

cannot be taken pass/fail; e.g., 3 hours of mathematics cannot be taken pass/fail; 3 hours of social

science could be taken pass/fail if permitted by the policy of the advising department. It is the

responsibility of the students, with the assistance of their adviser, to determine if they are eligible

to register in a course with the pass/fail option. Graduate students cannot use student option

pass/fail grading. See the Student Academic Regulations for more detail.

Hearer Status: Students will pay full fees for the course(s) in which they are registered as a Hearer. The students

in such courses are not entitled to credit for the course and none of the work will be graded. The

course hours will be included in certifications.

If a student wishes to attend any class as a hearer, he/she must obtain the permission of the

instructor in charge of the course, permission from his/her advisor and must register as a hearer

through the Office of the Registrar. Student Academic Regulations, Section II.E.
