Re: Online Service for Police Record Checks
Dear Parents and Guardians:
There is no need to tell you how busy the start of a new school year is. If your fall plans include
volunteering, you will likely need to complete a Police Record Check on top of it all.
That’s where we step in to make things at least a little easier.
Police Record Checks are available ONLINE. Residents of Halton Region, aged 21 and older can
apply for Police Information Checks and Police Vulnerable Sector Checks for employment and
volunteer purposes online 24 hours a day, seven days a week without having to attend one of our
police locations.
Here’s how it works:
Visit our website: www.haltonpolice.ca. Click on Services -> Police Record Checks.
Complete each field of the application form. To verify your identity, you will be asked a
series of authentication questions based on your personal credit file. Answers to the
questions are timed to ensure added security and privacy.
In addition to the standard $25.00 processing fee, a convenience charge of $9.95 plus HST
will be added to each Police Record Check.
If there are no concerns or follow-up required, the requested Police Record Check will be mailed
directly to you.
Those under the age of 21, who have lived in Canada less than one year, who have no established
personal credit history, or who do not wish to pay the convenience fee can still attend any District
within our Region or Halton Regional Police Service Headquarters at 1151 Bronte Road in Oakville to
obtain a Police Record Check. Locations and hours of operation are available on our website under
About Us -> Locations.
We are excited to make this service available to you and your family. For more information or
questions, visit www.haltonpolice.ca, Email recordchecks@haltonpolice.ca or call 905-825-4747 ext.
4712.
