Obituary
Mrs. Geneva Moss Jacobs, daughter of the late Mary Louise
and Oliver Moss Sr, departed her earthly life on Tuesday,
August 1, 2023. She was born September 25, 1965, in Augusta,
GA.
Geneva was baptized at a young age at First Baptist Church of
Keysville, in Hephzibah, Georgia, where she accepted Jesus
Christ as her personal Savior. She was married to the late Ervin
Jacobs III.
Geneva worked at Sconyers BBQ for 12 years, and Richmond
County School District for 10 years. She then relocated with her
family to Columbia, SC in 2002, where she worked as a
supervisor for Johnson Food Service at Fort Jackson Army
Base until 2013. Geneva also worked part-time at various jobs
such as Goodwill Inc., Roses, and Dollar Tree until she became
her grandchildren’s personal nanny in which she was
affectionately known as Nana or “G. Geneva loved cooking,
decorating, gardening, listening to music, playing Tetris, being
on Facebook, spoiling her grandchildren, and spending time
with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by; her parents; husband; and two
sisters, Nancy Ann Williams and Aszener Wright.
Mrs. Geneva Moss Jacobs leaves to cherish and continue her
legacy: two beautiful daughters, Nicole Wilson (Carllester)
and Kimberly Brothers (Darrin); two stepdaughters;
grandchildren, Etoyi Wilson, Emani Wilson, Destiny Wilson,
Armani Brothers, Deayshia Wilson, Daveon Jennings,
Carllester Wilson III, Zaire Dash, Darrin Brothers Jr., and
Malayisha Catoe; 3 step-grandchildren; siblings, Mary
Johnson, Oliver Moss, Jr. (Bobby), John Moss (Harriett), and
Lashann Middleton, all of Augusta, GA; uncle, Arthur Taylor
(Vera); sisters-in-law, Marian Portee, Catherine Jacobs,
Carolyn Strothers, and Wanda Spence, all of Columbia, South
Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving
relatives, and close friends, all of whom will miss her dearly.
