Adjustments To The Bed
Using the Connected Remote Control:
To raise or lower the head, foot, or height of the bed, use
the up or down buttons on the control pendant. (See Figure 1.)
Follow instructions based on the manufacturer of
bed provided.
Using the Emergency Manual Hand Crank
To raise or lower the head, foot, or height of the bed when the
bed has no power.
1 Locate the emergency manual hand crank at the foot of the
bed underneath the mattress and on top of the springs.
2 At the foot end of the bed, insert notched end of the
emergency manual hand crank into the appropriate
connection to adjust the bed.
3 To lower the bed turn clockwise.
4 To raise the bed turn counter clockwise.
Lowering And Raising Bed Rails
The type of bed rail will vary based on the manufacturer of bed
and type of rail provided. Use the following:
Pins
a. Rails with pins may be on either or both ends of railing.
b. Pull pins from the railing. (See Figure 3.)
Hooks
a. Rails with hooks would be along the bottom of railing.
b. Pull out hooks to lower railing. (See Figure 4.)
c. Place pressure on the hooks to raise railing.

Hospital Bed Instructions
CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS
As Needed:
1 Wipe down railing and frame with damp cloth.
(Unplug the bed prior to cleaning).
2 Wipe down mattress with damp cloth.
*Manufacturer only recommends a trained technician
complete full cleaning of hospital beds.
SAFE USE INSTRUCTIONS
Make sure lockable casters are always locked.
Never operate if controller cords look damaged.
Do not let parts of the body hang over the side or
between bed rails.

Mayo Clinic Stores is Monday through Friday, 8 am–5 pm.

Keep electrical cords away from heated or hot surfaces.
Keep the bed at least 6 inches away from walls, windows,
and doors.
Do not open parts such as motor, pendant, gear, or
junction boxes.
MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
Mayo Clinic Store provided hospital beds should
only be maintained by a Mayo Clinic Store
employee who is a trained technician. Patients
should avoid any disassembly of the bed or other
accessories.
If relocating bed to another part of your residence
or a new location, please contact the Mayo Clinic
Store for assistance.
