Financial Certification and Affidavit of Support showing a minimum of US $28,876 (current estimate): Applicants must
show proof of funding for our estimate of one year Tuition & Living Expenses which is US $28,876. A bank statement
(dated within the last 4 months) and complete Affidavit of Support must be submitted. See “Estimate of Expenses” for a
breakdown of annual tuition and living expenses. An additional $5000 per dependent is required to the above total.
Government Sponsored Students: An official Financial Guarantee addressed to Irvine Valley College is required and must
include the student name and duration of the sponsorship. IVC will review to determine if we are able to accept specific
sponsorship organizations. Government sponsored students will also be required to submit a signed FERPA/Release o
f
Information Form.

APPLICANTS UNDER 18 YEARS OF AGE: Irvine Valley College may admit applicants under the age of 18 based on verified high
school/secondary completion; applicants must be 17 years of age at the start of their first semester. All applicants under the age of
18 must have a designated legal guardian who is a US citizen or resident who is 25 years of age or older. (IVC cannot act as your Legal
Guardian). You must live with your designated Legal Guardian until you become 18 years of age.

RECEIVING THE I-20: The acceptance letter and I-20 will be sent to you by email. US Department of Homeland Security
regulations require that I-20s ONLY be sent to students; we are not able to send I-20s to third parties.
* ENGLISH PROFICIENCY: All students must take the English/ESL Guided Self Placement (GSP) during matriculation to register for
classes. Submission of English proficiency test scores does not waive this requirement.

while attending Irvine Valley College. Applicants must show funding of US $28,876 in order to receive the I-20; the I-20 is the
document needed to apply for the F-1 visa. Fees are subject to change by the State of California and the South Orange County
Community College District Board of Trustees. Tuition and fees are due in full at the time of registration.

TUBERCULOSIS (TB) TESTING:
All students must take the TB test during orientation AND before starting classes. TB testing is a 2-day process. The cost of the TB
test is $25.

IVC does not accept TB tests taken outside of the USA.
Students who are traveling outside of the US after submitting the application must complete TB testing
during the International Student Orientation.
HEALTH INSURANCE: All international students are required to purchase the District mandated health insurance plan in order to

HOUSING: Irvine Valley College does not have on-campus housing. Please visit Housing Information for listings of local apartments
and home stay placement agencies that you can contact for assistance with housing placement
ORIENTATION PROGRAM: All international students are required to attend the International Student Orientation to be eligible to
attend classes. Orientation includes both on-line and in-person activities. In-person activities are scheduled 1-2 weeks prior to the
start of classes. The exact date of orientation will be sent to you in your acceptance letter and can be found at International Student
Orientation.
STUDENTS WITH A BACHELOR/MASTER DEGREE: Applicants who have already earned a Bachelor or Master degree in the US
or in another country may have difficulty transferring to a California university as some institutions do not accept students for a
second Bachelor’s degree. Please review Registration Priorities f
or information related to California registration priority regulations.
