may not be completed. A user with administrator privileges must perform the installation or update before
launching the setup of the EPM add-in.
Note
You can upgrade the EPM add-in to Support Package 35 only from Support Package 34. If you want to
upgrade the EPM add-in to Support Package 35 only from an earlier version, please do not try the upgrade

To install the EPM Add-in for Microsoft Oce Support Package 35 / Patch XX
The update feature does not function as of Support Package 27 for SAP BusinessObjects Planning
and Consolidation, version for the Microsoft Platform.
If you are working with models for SAP BusinessObjects Planning and Consolidation, version for SAP
NetWeaver, once the EPM add-in is installed on the server, depending on the update policy dened on the
server side, users will then be able to install the next Support Package / Patch on their client machine.
The following options are possible:
To be notied whenever an update is available, select the Notify me when updates are available option
in the User Options. When connecting to a Planning and Consolidation server, a message appears
every time an update is available.
Note
If you do not want to be notied about updates, you can either choose the Do not show this
message again option in the message box that appears or deselect the Notify me when updates are
available option in the User Options. These two options are synchronized, meaning that when the
rst one in the message box is checked, the user option is automatically unchecked.
Note
The Notify me when updates are available option takes eect and the Do not show this message
again option is displayed only for updates that are dened as "user update" on the server side. For
updates that are dened as "auto update" on the server side, without specifying anything on your
side, when connecting to a Planning and Consolidation server, a message appears every time an
update is available, asking you whether you want to install it now or later.
When updates are mandatory, (dened as "force update" on the server side), a message appears on
your local machine, prompting you to install the update. If you do not install the update, you cannot use
the EPM add-in.
You can verify at any time whether or not updates are available. To do so, when using a connection to a
Planning and Consolidation server, select EPM About Check for Updates .
Note
For the BPC version for SAP NetWeaver, refer to the Prerequisites for Installing EPM Add-in for Microsoft
Oce from SAP BusinessObjects Planning and Consolidation, version for SAP NetWeaver section of the
main installation guide.
