Subject: Specifications for the Issuance of Technical Certificates
Reference: Resolution No. 614-232-ALCN
In accordance with Resolution No. 614-232-ALCN, dated April 25, 1980, the Technical Certificates to be issued by the Class Societies or other authorized
organizations on behalf of the Republic of Panama shall meet the following specifications:
a. Format and Dimensions: the technical certificates shall follow exactly the format prescribed in the annexes to the pertinent conventions, and written in Spanish,
with an English translation below. The dimensions of the format shall be of 216mm x 330mm (8-1/2 x 13 inches).
b. Samples: The class societies and other authorized organizations shall send to the Directorate General of Consular and Maritime Affairs, New York office, blank
samples of each type of Technical Certificates to be issued by them on behalf of the Panamanian Administration.
c. Identification and signatures: All of the provisional convention Technical Certificates issued shall clearly show the name(s) of the surveyor(s) who carried out the
survey, as well as signature(s).
All convention technical certificates shall be signed by the individual(s) duly authorized by the organizations to do so.
Technical certificates will be valid only if they are issued in compliance with the submitted sample.
