Instructors shall administer final exams at the times scheduled for that purpose, except with specific permission from the Provost
and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Student Affairs. No permission from the Office of the Provost is required in order
to provide a make-up examination for one or two students on the grounds of conflict or other urgent reasons for being absent from
the final exam.
*Time and date of the final class and exam is based on time and day of the first class meeting during the semester. For example, a
class with a first meeting time in a week at 9:30am on Monday is scheduled for their final class and examination from 8:00-10:30am
on both Mon, April 28, 2025 & Wed, April 30, 2025. Similarly, a class with a first meeting time at 4:00pm on Tuesday is scheduled
for their final class and examination from 3:00-5:30pm on both Tues, April 29, 2025 & Wed, April 30, 2025. Courses with multiple
components should use the primary component’s first class meeting to determine exam date and time.
For classes that are 6 hour lectures or more, students should consult with their instructor to establish an ideal meeting time for the
final exam and then instructor should contact Registration & Records to schedule a room.
• Five credit hour classes with a lab component will meet based on the 3-credit hour final exam schedule using the Lecture
section to determine exam date and time.
• For classes starting at a time not listed above, students should consult with their instructor to establish an ideal meeting time
for the final exam and then instructor should contact Registration & Records to schedule a room.
• Students should check their Student Center on MyBGSU for exam dates, time and room just before the end of the semester.
• To avoid three or more final examinations on the same day, students may want to consider the final exam schedule when
enrolling in courses. If a student finds they have two or more exams on the same date and time, they should work with the
faculty to accommodate their exam conflicts.
• Instructors with exam conflicts should contact Dr. Ram Veerapaneni, Interim Vice Provost for Academic Affairs, to arrange for
an alternative date and time.
