Private Lesson Contract
This contract is between _________________________________________________and Canopy Studio, Inc.
For the ________________________________Session
I understand that I am entering into an agreement with Canopy Studio to provide private lessons for
myself or my child(ren)_________________________________________________________.
I understand that the cost for private lessons is as follows:
Private Lesson for 1 student –
o $60 total / one hour lesson
o $36 total / half hour lesson
Semi-Private Lesson for 2 students –
o $72 total / one hour lesson; $36 per student
o $48 total / half hour lesson; $24 per student
Small Group Class for 3 students –
o $90 total / one hour lesson; $30 per student
o NO half hour lesson offered
Small Group Class for 4 students –
o $96 total / one hour lesson; $24 per student
o NO half hour lesson offered
I understand that I must pay for each lesson before the lesson takes place. This means I can either pay
with a check or cash or with a credit card on the day of the lesson.
I understand that if I or my child is in a group of 2 or more students and one of the group does not come
to that lesson, I can either pay for the lesson at the rates outlined above, or I can decline the lesson that
day.
I understand that I may have to pay more than anticipated for a small group class as it will fluctuate
with the number of students who come on any given day.
Ex: Four students take a small group class on Sunday afternoon. One student goes out of town for
Labor Day. The rest of the students choose to take the class, therefore paying $30 each instead of $24.
I understand that for group lessons, students/parents reserve the right to cancel for holidays, illness,
and travel without being subjected to payment. Those students still taking the class agree to pay
Canopy’s current private lesson rates or can decline to take the class.
For example, if two students don’t show up for a four person lesson, the two responsible payees for
the lesson will be given the option to continue. They can decide whether or not the absences put the
lesson out of their price range. Or, the remaining students may opt to take a 30 minute lesson
instead of a full hour, reducing the cost per student.
I understand that if I have paid for multiple lessons in advance, any additional charge must be paid by
the next lesson. (e.g., If you paid $24 for a 4 person small group class and only 3 students come, you will
owe an additional $6)
